• The FIRE Sessions you say?

    CAUTION: Potential horn-tootin’ ahead…

As I mentioned before, yesterday was the first-ever FIRE Sessions here at Brains on Fire. We invited a handpicked group of clients and kindred spirits who came in from all over the country for a one-day intimate gathering and sharing of insight.

Jackie Huba was with us to talk and facilitate discussion about Citizen Marketers and how to work with them and John Moore dove into how a company can make itself great from the inside out with his Tribal Knowledge.

But what was so great about it was the conversation. Jackie and John were both fantastic in their sessions (as always), but the great thing was the questions and conversation that followed. That’s what made it a gathering instead of a conference. And the ‘sharing it’ theme flowed through the entire day.

I’ve seen both Jackie and John present several times now, but I always come away with some new tidbit I didn’t find before. Like when Jackie said that ‘Customer generated media isn’t a marketing thing. It’s a cultural trend.’ Or John’s ‘Products fulfill needs. Experiences fulfill desires.’

It was a great time with good people. Great people as a matter of fact. And at dinner at Restaurant O the night before, Scott Ginsberg even got to join us since he was in town for another talk. (And we had a Rene Zellweger sighting as well!)

The FIRE Sessions was everything I hoped it would be. And if the feedback is good, then we’ll be having Round 2 sometime soon. Stay tuned and if you’d like to check out photos from the event, feel free. Or check out the video recap.

Cool info, Spike. For the next set of sessions, you should consider marketing students as well (like myself, hint, hint). Seriously, though … the students tend to be on the cutting edge of the trends, plus it would give you an insight into what marketing curriculm is passing down.

“but the great thing was the questions and conversation that followed”

I can relate to that; I am always in search of people with great questions since I know the great conversations can’t be far behind.

Camp close to the great questions!

    Keep creating,
    Mike

Kudos to everyone at Brains on Fire for hosting such a fantastic event!

The conversations were engaging. The speakers were fantastic. And the meals were scrumptious (especially breakfast at Gene’s ;-)

I’m just bummed out we did not get to see George Clooney.
