Yesterday we held our second annual FIRE Sessions in our own INNOVATE Building here in downtown Greenville. If you’ve been reading the blog for a while, you may remember last year’s FIRE Sessions, when none other than Brand Autopsy’s John Moore and Church of the Customer’s Jackie Huba came to facilitate conversations around our ‘Sharing It’ theme. This year we had Cranium‘s founder and inventor, Richard Tait and ‘That Guy with the Nametag,’ Scott Ginsberg, come and speak on a ‘Living It’ theme.
The FIRE (Fascinate, Inspire, Reward and Engage) Sessions are a lot of things. It’s a way for us to give back to our clients and kindred spirits. It’s a way for us to learn, as a company, from smart people out there with different experiences, but the same mentality of creating movements. It’s an invite-only, intimate gathering and exchange of ideas, energy and inspiration. People come from New York, Boston, Chicago ” all over the country and just down the road ” to spend the day here with us. And we’re honored that they do.
Scott’s up first:
Luck is an acronym for working your ass off.
If everyone says you’re NUTS, you just might be on to something.
If you don’t make a name for yourself, someone will make one for you.
Are people hearing more from you, or about you?
Ideas are free. Execution is priceless.
And than the former Grand Poo Bah of Cranium, Richard Tait:
Hire for smarts and rent experience.
Have a heart. Give. Be a company with a conscience.
Reward anticipation instead of reaction.
You are the culture.
My head is still spinning from all of the energized conversations that occurred throughout the day ” even around the tables at lunch over at the Lazy Goat (yummy… and a client of ours). Thank you to Richard and Scott and especially to those who spent the day with us. The countdown to the FIRE Sessions 2009 begins today!
