The other day I was walking past Alexis’s desk and paper clipped to her work space was this manifesto from holstee.com.

    Maybe you’ve seen it…

We often help craft manifestos for communities, but for some reason when I first read this manifesto clipped to Alexis’s workspace, it dawned on me that I’ve never created a personal manifesto.

    Do you have one?

The definition of a manifesto is simple: A manifesto is a public declaration of principles and intentions.

I am a big believer in the power of intention. So I took a stab at it. Here goes. Making my personal manifesto public.

(Couldn’t decide if I should talk TO myself or have it be FROM myself, so I followed Holstee’s style.)

Wake up every morning with a grateful heart.
    Laugh hard and often.
See the lightness in both work and play.
    Keep your body strong.
Be a role model for others, especially your family.
    Eat real food.
    Practice kindness.
Forgive even when it seems impossible.
    Live a simple life.
Give away more than you consume.
See the world with the eyes of a child.
Try something that scares you every day.
    Listen more than you speak.

So what is your personal manifesto?

Write one and make it public here today. Then ask yourself…are you living it?

Happy Friday! Next week we are having our annual FIRE session. Mack Collier will be blogging for us on Wednesday and Thursday to recap the day’s adventures. Stay tuned for great insights from Duncan Wardle from Disney and Scott Stratten, author of Unmarketing.

Never stop believing in magic, pixie dust and the power of possibility.
I will live out of my imagination, not my history.
    Be happy.
    Make others happy.
Keep calm and add some glitter.
Live up to the spirit that is within me.
    Commit random acts of kindness.
    Be courageous.
    Forgive.
Recognize the things that no longer serve me. Thank them for the lessons they have taught me and invite them to go, wishing them well.
Send thank you notes. And real mail for no reason at all.
    Make my passion my purpose.
    Keep curious.
    Love.

Wow, this is pretty powerful.  I am going to take some time to think this one out.  But, I know what it will entail: travel, adventure, living life and being in community with others!
