The Three Most Powerful Words in Marketing

“Humans simply aren’t moved to action by data dumps, dense PowerPoint slides or spreadsheets packed with figures. People are moved by emotion. The best way to emotionally connect other people to our agenda begins with ‘Once upon a time…’ ” -Jonathan Gottschall

Connecting with people isn’t about word count, apps or platforms. It’s not dependent on the number of times you blog per week or Tweet per day. Connecting with people is about the story you tell. However you do it, do that one thing exceptionally well and you cannot fail.

This is a terrific post, with a wonderful video making the point. At the risk of appearing totally obtuse, are the three words, “connect with people?”

I was thinking “Once upon a time,” but that works, too! :)

I do like that better and it occurred to me, but wouldn’t that be FOUR words? :)

Haha. To count the “a” or not to count the “a” … that is the question. :)
