Eric Dodds
Community Chemist
Arbitrary Facts:
- Life enthusiast
- Former plumber
- Bike commuter
- Reigning office foosball champion
Eric was born and raised in the Upstate (that’s SC for all you Yanks out there), where he spent his early years hiking, mountain biking and dirt bike riding with his Dad. Somehow or other, the guy ended up at Clemson University and the result was a degree in marketing, some tutoring in calculus, a lot of wakeboarding and a proudly matriculated summa cum laude.
Through his study of marketing, Eric developed a strong distaste for interruptive advertising and is passionate about changing the marketing landscape for the better.
His evolution at Brains on Fire is a great story - which he’ll be happy to share with you over your beverage of choice - but it goes something like this: Eric started out here as a Fearless Fact Finder and was an integral part of the Insight team. But now he’s what most would call a Community Manager – but we don’t. Eric has played an integral role in the insight, strategy, creation, and implementation of movements for the likes Best Buy, Colonial Williamsburg and DoubleDay Publishing. When he’s on the job, he’s the go-to guy for both the brand and the community. But instead of “manage,” he works shoulder-to-shoulder with our client’s employees and customers to fortify successful, long-term, sustainable word of mouth movements. No small task, but you better believe a rewarding one.
When he’s not figuring out new ways to save the day for Brains on Fire’s partners, you can probably find Eric (or the Dodd-Father as we like to call him) on a lake, a mountain bike, a hiking trail, or in his workshop tinkering away on a project.
If you’d like to crawl a little deeper inside Dodds’s head, take a look around his website.

Sometimes laughter is the best medicine, and sometimes cooking and eating an enormous pile of bacon is the best medicine.
