Kathie hails from Long Island, New York where she lived for 13 years before moving to Atlanta. The un-stuffiest CPA/COO you'll ever meet, her BS in Business Administration from Winthrop University has served her well as she oversees both the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer duties at Brains on Fire.

It takes a certain kind of number cruncher to work in a creative environment and that's why Kathie is so valued around here. Sure, she does that accounts receivable/payable thing, but she also has been known to be a source of wisdom for other professional service companies who seek her advice when it comes to profitable billing, estimates and all that other good stuff that allows the rest of us to have a paycheck.

On the COO side of the coin, Kathie is vital to the growth, success and day-to-day running of the company. She is integral to setting goals and is the one that ensures they are reached and surpassed. From financial goals to operational needs, if it's on the list, consider it done.

The illustrious Mrs. Conway also negotiates contracts with our clients. She knows exactly how to work with our internal partners to abide by the red tape, jump though the hoops and expedite the best solution to get down to business. And, since Brains on Fire isn't exactly a typical company, it takes someone who has intimate knowledge of our operations and structure to make those negotiations go smoothly.

Kathie's memberships include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants.

Kathie also contributes to the community by teaching financial literacy courses to victims of domestic violence through the YWCA. She questions that sometimes, as her own retirement plan is for her son to be the hottest ticket in Major League Baseball. Go figure.
